Art Helps Get Me Through The Winter
Believe it or not, some of my warmest paintings are done in the coldest months. During the summer I’m inspired the most by all the sites and sounds of people and nature in motion. But it’s not until the bitter cold strikes in New England where I begin to dig deep in search of those inspiring moments during the summer. Mostly for my own sanity.
By spring every year I remember how hard it is during the winter. Harder not just financially, but harder in terms of feeling alive and inspired to be creative. Painting for me is a result of the swelling of emotions within me. I am an artist that thrives off of social interaction, new ideas, positive momentum, and fresh perspective. I also have a spirit that needs to find the quiet places once in a while. But this past winter was a hard one. And the snow took a long while to be clear and free from my mind and lawn.
