“Falling Sea” – Contemporary Seascape Painting

This contemporary seascape was a fun way to utilize such a horizontal canvas. The texture in Falling Sea is not as complex as my last painting, Spiral Wave, but as you can see in this picture there is some nice transparent glazed layers built up in the water.

This a a great painting to hang over a couch or bed because it’s so wide and narrow and it compliments any furniture of this shape. The sides are painted the same dark blue:

This was why acrylic was invented… LOVE the textures. I really like this and this is not normally my thing!

Blimey, what a great job you did on this piece of art. I too enjoy painting with acrylics on the vast majority of my paintings. I love this painting as it makes you feel you are standing in the water and are getting ready to feel the wave hit you. You certainly captured the excitement of the raw power of the ocean. Hope to see more of your art in the future.
