“Tree of Life” Abstract Art Mixed Media

I wanted the “Tree Of Life” to be fun and expressive. I consider this piece slightly mixed media because I created a digital abstract painting and adapted a very rustic hand drawn silhouette of the tree into it. I paired the many textured circles with the rectangular shapes to express the dichotomy of the two worlds we live in – spiritual and physical. The the tree of life is described in the Bible and is being guarded still to this day.
“He drove out the man; and at the east of the garden of Eden he placed the cherubim, and a sword flaming and turning to guard the way to the tree of life.” – Genesis 3:24

The detail that’s gone into this piece is incredible – how long did it take you? You’ve used light and shading really effectively to make that tree really jump out – is it supposed to jump out as, I’d imagine, life itself jumps out at you sometimes?
